Marriage and Family Therapy Intern – Winston-Salem, NC and Online
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern completing my clinical training at Holy Curious in Winston-Salem, NC. All counseling services are supervised by Sara Spong, PhD, License #S10602 and provided through the internship site.
I live in Winston-Salem with my wife, Erin, of fourteen years, and our three children. I also serve bivocationally as a pastor, drawing from many years of ministry spent walking with individuals, couples, and families through seasons of growth, loss, formation, and renewal.
My heart as a counselor is to help people discover redemptive meaning in their stories and experience healing in their relationships with God, self, and others. I believe transformation unfolds through honest reflection, supportive relationships, and grace-filled growth.
My Approach
I integrate biblical truth with insights from family systems theory, attachment work, and narrative therapy. These approaches help clients explore how their stories were shaped, how their relationships formed them, and where God may be inviting renewal.
I view the therapeutic alliance as a sacred space. In counseling, the steady, compassionate presence of the therapist reflects something of Christ's incarnational love. It offers safety, attunement, and hope as clients navigate pain, seek clarity, or pursue deeper wholeness.
Areas of Focus
As an intern under supervision, I walk with adults and couples through:
My hope is to offer a grounded, compassionate, Christ-centered space where you can explore your story with curiosity and experience meaningful change.
